Nelson Builders is a family-owned remodeling company that's been serving the West Michigan lakeshore for 25 years, specializing in high-end kitchen, bath, and whole-home remodeling. We're looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our field operations and help raise the bar for a growing crew.

Compensation: $45+/hour, based on experience

About the Role: This is a leadership-driven field position.  You'll build schedules, manage crews, collaborate with trade partners, and direct the overall flow of each project, staying hands-on with carpentry work as required to keep things on schedule.

Strong leadership sits at the core of this role, backed by solid carpentry expertise and sharp on-site management skills. As we bring new carpenters up to speed, we need someone whose own hands-on skill sets the bar for the crew.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential remodeling projects through all phases of construction
• Manage daily field crew production and coordinate trade partners
• Build and maintain project schedules using JobTread
• Conduct regular jobsite visits for progress, quality, and safety
• Train and mentor field staff
• Serve as the primary field leader and a homeowner point of contact
• Perform hands-on carpentry, both finish and rough framing, as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years residential construction experience with leadership responsibility
• Proven track record managing schedules, people, and multiple projects
• Field leadership background — foreman or similar
• Strong carpentry skills, finish and rough framing
• Clear communication with clients, crews, and trade partners
• Michigan Builder's License preferred, or willing to obtain one
